For 90’s kids, one of the best shows was Ghostwriter, the series following a group of Brooklyn kids who solve mysteries and crimes with the help of a grammar-happy ghost that floats across the screen as a ball of light. What better way to develop an affection for reading, writing and being mini-Nancy Drews? Not to mention, making nerdy kids like me feel cool.

California cool has always been enviable. There’s no greater example than Beverly Hills, 90210, which was the premiere teen show for drama, style and cool in the 90s. Beverly Hills, 90210‘s wardrobe has a great mix of complete fashion disasters and totally chic staples. And lots of denim. With grunge and color blocking coming back into style, it seems like the best place for fashion inspiration –and judgment–may be the Peach Pit.

If you’re up early in the morning, you’ve noticed that The Fresh Prince of Bel Air is always on TBS. And thank heavens too! How else would we get to see Will Smith before he became the biggest movie star on the planet? I love watching The Fresh Prince and during my most recent viewing I realized that Will’s outrageous style — and his family’s style — has become trendy all over again.
