Teen Wolf Finale’s Big Ratings

Monday’s Teen Wolf finale was dark, scary and action-packed — everything faithful viewers have come to expect — and as a reward, MTV nabbed an impressive 2.1 million total viewers!

That’s a crazy good increase, especially considering that Teen Wolf gets a very respectable 1.7 million viewers per week. This ratings boom was the second biggest ratings high for the series; Teen Wolf garnered 2.2 million viewers for its series premiere back in June.

So if you didn’t think Teen Wolf deserved a second season before, there’s no argument now! Teen Wolf and Awkward‘s success of 1.7 million viewers per week only cements their renewals for a second season and the recent news that MTV has cancelled The Hard Times of R.J. Berger (it drew less than 1 million viewers in its second season finale).

Teen Wolf‘s season finale wrapped up the Alpha mystery and ended with Allison’s aunt and the Alpha both being killed. Meanwhile, Derek became the new Alpha and we’ll be forced to wait until season 2 to see if Jackson is given the bite and just what Lydia is turning into. (We’ll also have to wait to enjoy more Stiles..sigh…)

Did you watch the Teen Wolf finale? Did you love it or hate it? Happy with the ratings and renewals? Share your thoughts in the comments!
